Whitestein sponsored CIA 2005 System Innovation Award awarded to Bibster

The purpose of the international workshop series on Cooperative Information Agents, CIA, is to provide an inter-disciplinary forum for researchers, software developers, and managers to be informed about, present, and discuss the latest high-quality advances in the theory and practice of information agent technology applied to the Internet, Web, and the Semantic Web.

Whitestein Technologies AG has supported the CIA international workshop series since 2003, by sponsoring the CIA System Innovation Award that aims to acknowledge and further stimulate highly innovative development in the domain of intelligent information agents systems and applications for current and future open information and service environments.

This year the CIA System Innovation Award has been awarded to the the Bibster System, a semantics-based bibliographic P2P system developed by Jeen Broekstra, Marc Ehrig, Peter Haase, Frank van Harmelen, Maarten Menken, Peter Mika, Michal Plechawski, Pawel Pyszlak, Björn Schnizler, Ronny Siebes, Steffen Staab and Christoph Tempich (U Karlsruhe, VU Amsterdam and Empolis Poland).
