AgentLink III publishes case study of LS/ATN

LS/ATN is a system built by Whitestein Technologies for major logistics customers to make transport operations more efficient, and to reduce running costs. This case study presents the heuristic-based and inter-agent negotiation mechanisms that are used to determine transportation routes that minimise cost while maximising truck utilisation and reducing the amount of driven kilometers. It covers experiences made during the development and deployment of LS/ATN and underlines the benefits compared to traditional packages for transportation management, leading to a potential 5% to 10% cost reduction when used as a production system.
